One app. Everything a keystroke away.
Each one is a keystroke, a hover or a word away.
Three places Xeneric lives.
Xeneric stays out of the way until you reach for it. Hover the notch, press ⌥Space, or click the menu bar or the left edge of your screen.
The notch
Your wake-up briefing, the song that's playing, a shelf for files you drag up, and a heads-up just before each meeting.
See the notchThe Xeneric bar
Find an app, pull up something you copied, or just ask. The AI runs on your own OpenAI key or your Claude Code login, with the MCP tools you allow.
See the Xeneric barThe menu bar & left edge
Every app gets its own volume, a runner moves with your CPU, and Xeneric's eye menu sits beside them. The left-edge rail opens Draw, Lens and the rest.
See the sound mixer⌥Space. Then anything.
A glass pill that opens on the desktop and monitor you're on. Type to find apps instantly, or keep typing and ask Xeneric. The chat continues right in the bar.
Two brains. Your choice.
Xeneric's agent runs on OpenAI with your own key, or on Claude Code: your installed claude CLI, headless, using your Claude login and no API key at all.
- Tools for opening apps and links and reading your calendar, with a short “Used …” line for each call.
- Tell it about you once (Dashboard → You). Every answer and everything it writes uses it.
- Conversations are saved locally, so chats survive a restart.
- With Claude Code as the brain, only reading tools are allowed by default. Shell commands and file edits stay off from Xeneric, always.
Plug in any tool. Safely.
Add an MCP server by command or URL, paste a {"mcpServers": …} JSON, or import the ones you set up in Claude Code. Their tools reach Xeneric's AI only when you say so.
- Local servers over stdin/stdout, remote ones over Streamable HTTP.
- Imported servers start off. “Let Xeneric use these tools” turns a server on, read-only.
- Tools that create, send or delete stay hidden unless you also turn on “Allow actions”.
- Secret env values and headers live in the Keychain, never in settings.json.
Just talk. It talks back.
A real back-and-forth: Xeneric listens, answers out loud sentence by sentence, then listens again. Talk over it anytime and it stops to hear you.
- Hands-free conversation with barge-in, so you never wait for it to finish.
- Short filler lines while it thinks, so silence never feels broken.
- Clap twice to wake it. Off unless you turn it on, and the audio never leaves your computer: only the loudness of each moment is checked.
- A spoken morning briefing, and a mic test in the Dashboard.
The notch, finally useful.
A black island that grows out of the notch and tucks back in, animated at your display's refresh rate. It greets you when your Mac wakes and quietly keeps you in the loop all day.
A terminal built for agents. Its own app, in your Dock.
Your login shell on Alacritty's engine, the same core Zed uses. Tabs live in a left sidebar with groups, and AI coding tools are one click away.
AI launchers
Claude, Gemini, Codex and OpenCode. Missing one? Its install command is typed for you, never run.
Agent teams
Start several agents in one folder and watch them side by side in the grid view.
Claude, your way
New, continue, resume a session, accept edits automatically, or plan mode with no changes.
Xeneric tab
A pinned tab to chat about your terminal and run what it suggests in your shell.
Drag images in
Drop files or images onto a tab and their paths are typed in, ready for Claude Code.
The details
Saved, renamable tabs. Search, clickable links, ⌘K to clear, and starts where you are in Finder.
Select. ⌥⇧F. Done.
A radial menu opens around your mouse for the files selected in Finder. Convert, zip, share or copy a path without opening another app.
- Images, PDFs, documents, audio and video, converted with the tools your Mac already has. More formats with ffmpeg.
- Share to WhatsApp, Telegram, AirDrop, Messages or Mail.
- Right-click any file in Finder: “Convert or Share with Xeneric”.
- Drop files on the circle, on your pet, or up into the notch's shelf.
- Drag the file from the middle of the circle straight into any app.
Disk full? FreeUp finds the room.
See where your space went, folder by folder, then free it safely. Caches and leftovers your apps make again by themselves are picked for you; your own files wait for you to decide.
- Quick cleanup: app caches, logs, package downloads and Xcode leftovers, cleared in seconds.
- A full scan finds old
node_modules,targetand.nextfolders, installers, old downloads and screenshots, duplicates, big forgotten files, iPhone backups and leftovers of apps you deleted. - Apps you haven't opened in months, local AI models (Ollama, Hugging Face, LM Studio), Android emulators, old Homebrew versions and the Go module cache.
- Click any folder to look inside it, biggest first, and go as deep as you like.
- Your files go to the Trash, so anything can be put back. Empty the Trash right from FreeUp.
- A heads-up in the notch when your disk is almost full.
- Never touches macOS, your apps, Mail, Messages or iCloud.
- Open it from the notch, the left-edge sidebar, the menu or by typing “storage” in the Xeneric bar.
Drop an image. Crop, mark it up, done.
Drag an image onto the notch's Edit zone and it opens in a window of its own: crop, rotate, add a look, draw on it, then save a copy or copy it to the clipboard.
- Crop free or to 1:1, 4:3 and 16:9, rotate and flip.
- Eight looks (Vivid, Warm, Cool, Fade, Mono, Noir, Sepia) plus brightness, contrast and saturation.
- Pen, marker, arrows, boxes, circles and lines in eight colours. Drawings stay put when you crop or rotate.
- Resize, change format, undo and redo. Your original is never changed: Xeneric saves a copy.
Every app gets its own volume.
Turn Slack down without touching Spotify. Xeneric Sound gives each app its own slider and its own output, plus your master volume, your microphone and every device you own.
- On macOS 14.4 and later, built on Core Audio process taps. Boost a quiet app past 100%.
- Send any app to its own output: music on the speakers, a call in your AirPods.
- Pick your microphone, set its level and mute it, with an optional live meter.
- Save levels as presets; drive it all from the keyboard.
- Steps aside while any app uses the microphone, so calls never echo.
A runner that moves with your CPU.
A fan, a heartbeat, a spinner, an orbit or Xeneric's eye in the menu bar, moving faster the busier your Mac gets. Click it for the numbers.
- CPU, memory, network, disk, battery, uptime and the apps using the most memory.
- Follow CPU, memory or the network, and show a reading beside it.
- Holds still on low battery, in Low Power Mode, or when the Mac is idle.
A buddy on your windows.
Blu, Petal, Pinky, Archie and Chatty: Apptivly's mascots, made for Xeneric. Your pet lives at the bottom of your screen or perches on your windows, blinks, naps, and holds up a sticker for whatever is going on.
- Connect Claude Code and it tells you what Claude is doing in plain words, when it needs you, and when it's done. It knows Codex, Gemini, Aider and other AI agents too.
- A focus timer (25, 50 or 90 minutes), water and break reminders, and a hello each morning.
- Comments on your terminal, naps when you're away, and has opinions about being clicked too much.
- Double-click to ask Xeneric. Right-click for its menu.
Your pointer. Expressed your way.
Your pointer's size and look, and effects that help people follow it. Pick Apple's sharp cut or Xeneric's wide, tail-less modern pointer with soft corners and radiant dual-screen themes.
Draw on your screen. Then wipe it clean.
Circle it, highlight it, point at it. Draw puts a sheet of glass over everything on screen, with your pens in a rail where the left-edge sidebar opens. Made for calls, demos and screen recordings.
- Pen, highlighter, marker, arrows and boxes in six colours and three sizes. Keys too: P, H, M, A, R and 1 to 3.
- The eraser takes whole strokes. Undo and redo with ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z.
- Fading ink (F): new strokes fade out on their own a few seconds after you lift the pen, so there's nothing to clear mid-call.
- Clear all with one click (or C), and Esc puts the pens away and wipes the screen.
- Open it from the left-edge rail, the menu-bar eye or ⌥⇧D.
Look closer. Point it out.
Lens rides beside your pointer with a sharp, magnified view of whatever is under it. Spotlight dims the rest of the screen around the pointer, so everyone on the call knows where to look.
- Zoom with ⌥= and ⌥−, resize with ⌥[ and ⌥], or ⌥ and scroll.
- Round or rounded, a crosshair, invert or greyscale, or docked to a corner.
- ⌥⇧L toggles the spotlight. Esc puts either away.
Write anywhere. Sound like you.
A small Xeneric bubble appears beside the text box you're in, in any app. Speak or type what you want, then insert or replace.
- ⌥⇧Space rewrites the text you've selected, in place.
- Reads the conversation on screen, so replies fit the chat (WhatsApp and web apps too).
- Text is only read or written when you ask.
Never late again.
Xeneric reads your calendars through macOS, Google Calendar included once it's in Internet Accounts. It never sees a Google password or token.
- A wake-up briefing: a greeting, the weather, how your day starts and what changed while you were away.
- A heads-up in the notch shortly before each event, and in Notification Center if you like.
- Ask “what's on tomorrow?” and get a real answer.
Simple settings. Everything in one place.
One sidebar, one list per page. An integrations gallery with search and categories, editable shortcuts, and a welcome tour on first launch.
- Integrations & System General. Switch between your live integrations gallery and macOS system behavior.
- The left-edge handle. A tiny handle on the left edge of your screen opens a rail with every feature. Hover for labels.
- Editable shortcuts. Click the pencil and press new keys. Changes apply right away.
- A welcome tour on first launch walks you through permissions and your first ⌥Space.
Summon Xeneric anywhere with ⌘ + Space on your Mac.
