Menu-bar runner
A little runner in the menu bar that moves faster the busier your Mac is. Click it for CPU, memory, network, disk and battery.
What it shows#
A little animation in the menu bar that runs faster the busier your Mac is: Xeneric's eye (default), a fan, a pulse, a spinner, an orbit, an equalizer, dots or bars. Click it for CPU, memory, network, disk, battery, uptime and the busiest apps (helper processes are added up; CPU is a share of the whole machine). Its menu also opens Activity Monitor and the Dashboard, switches Offline mode, checks for updates and quits Xeneric.
Runner settings#
In Dashboard → Menu bar:
- Show the runner
- In the menu bar. “Hide runner” in its menu turns it off until you switch it back on here.
- Show beside the runner
- A reading as text next to the icon: CPU, memory, network, battery, or nothing.
- Runner follows
- What sets its pace: CPU, memory or network (download and upload together; 10 MB/s is full speed).
- Speed
- How fast it runs for the same load.
- Keep still when idle or low on battery
- Stops animating on battery below 20%, in Low Power Mode, or after 30 seconds of CPU under 3%.
