Xeneric Terminal
A terminal on Alacritty's engine made for AI coding agents, with tabs, a grid view and a pinned Xeneric tab. Open it with ⌥⇧T.
Open the terminal#
Press ⌥⇧T or pick Terminal in the left-edge rail. Xeneric Terminal is its own window in your Dock: your login shell on Alacritty's engine, with tabs in a left sidebar (saved, renamable, in groups), search, clickable links, and it starts where you are in Finder.
AI agents#
- AI launchers for Claude, Gemini, Codex and OpenCode. Missing one? Its install command is typed for you, never run.
- Agent teams: start several agents in one folder and watch them side by side in the grid view.
- Claude, your way: new, continue, resume a session, accept edits automatically, or plan mode with no changes.
- Prompt enhancer: ⌘E rewrites the prompt you're typing as a clearer one; Replace or Cancel.
The Xeneric tab#
A pinned tab (⌘I) to chat with Xeneric about your terminal and run what it suggests in your shell.
Drop files and images in#
Drop files or images onto a tab and their paths are typed in, ready for Claude Code. Screenshots dragged from the thumbnail work too.
Terminal keys#
App shortcuts use ⌘, so Ctrl keys (⌃C, ⌃K…) reach your shell.
